The missing beat?
Dubai GITEX | Diwali | KCD SriLanka and tech
I’m from the millennial generation, born at a time when today’s technology was just about to boom. No cell phones, no iPhones, no apps, no concept of doom scrolling. Today, when I wake up, there’s a new tool, research paper, or piece of technology every single day. It’s hard to keep up. The simple little joys and peaceful moments we once had now seem lost. I was sitting today just thinking about life without the internet, trying to find that missing beat in me from the past. The world is moving too fast now → if you want to survive as an engineer, you need to skill up rapidly and constantly wonder, “Will AI replace me in the next decade?” Tech is evolving for the better, but the missing beat in today’s world is peace.
We have the phones, we have all the world’s knowledge, we’re even starting to have humanoids but where is the peace? It’s something you can’t find if you’re always chasing. (Chasing isn’t bad!) What I mean is that every time you learn something new, there’s always another thing waiting for your attention. When you earn a certain amount, a new target appears. Your goals, desires, and needs keep evolving and somewhere in between, you forget to make peace with yourself.
This October, even though it was a festive season in India and Halloween season worldwide, I want to emphasize the importance of human connections, the love you give to your near ones and to yourself. Sit back, stay calm, and relax for a bit as you deserve it. Technology will keep coming in waves, bringing new challenges each time. But chill, it’s okay!
Moving to the tech side, I’ve been vocal about the next big area of innovation: robotics. Humanoids are now becoming visible and setting the stage to be part of our daily lives. This is the right time to get involved in building skill-specific robots based on the open-source ecosystem.
This past month was Diwali and I had multiple sessions, workshops, and webinars. A super busy month!
Dubai GITEX → one crazy big event that you can’t leave without feeling overwhelmed. So much tech, so much innovation! I gave a session on AI infrastructure and a workshop that didn’t work on my laptop because it refused to connect to any network there - thankfully, I had everything online on Killercoda.
KCD Sri Lanka → my first time in Sri Lanka! I loved the vibe, got to see the Indian Ocean, and delivered my keynote on AI beyond the hype sharing how people are moving back to bare metal for AI workloads due to privacy concerns.
Happy Diwali! The festive vibes were massive, it’s a season of joy, the victory of good, and spending time with friends and family. It’s always a reset button for me, and I’m glad it was between GITEX and KCD Sri Lanka, so I could celebrate at home!

The State of OCI Artifacts for AI/ML - Over the past 18 months, OCI artifacts have evolved from an experimental concept to a production-grade standard for AI/ML deployments, particularly in Kubernetes-native environments emphasizing governance, provenance, and supply chain security. With projects like CNCF ModelPack, Docker Model Runner, and Kubernetes’ Image Volume Source, OCI has become the foundation for secure, standardized model packaging and distribution across enterprises.
Helm 4 Overview - Helm 4.0.0-beta.2 introduces major architectural, security, and usability upgrades including a redesigned plugin system with optional WebAssembly runtime, OCI digest-based installs for supply chain security, multi-document values, and server-side apply. It also brings performance boosts, clearer error handling, renamed CLI flags, and a stable SDK API as the project prepares for its full November release at KubeCon Atlanta.
Summary of the Amazon DynamoDB Service Disruption in the Northern Virginia (US-EAST-1) Region - Its very important to know that even the top cloud provider region can fail and building systems as a bottleneck is not an option, it might happen less but its not somthing that wont ever happen.
On October 19–20, 2025, AWS experienced a major service disruption in its N. Virginia (us-east-1) region caused by a race condition in DynamoDB’s DNS management system, which led to widespread failures across dependent services like EC2, Lambda, and Network Load Balancer. The issue required manual intervention and resulted in extended outages, prompting AWS to implement fixes, add safeguards to DNS automation, and improve recovery and throttling mechanisms to prevent future incidents.7 Common Kubernetes Pitfalls (and How I Learned to Avoid Them) - practical lessons learned from common mistakes such as missing resource limits, neglecting probes, ignoring log centralization, treating all environments the same, leaving unused resources, overcomplicating networking, and weak security practices. It offers real-world fixes for each issue like using RBAC, resource requests, probes, and cleanup policies emphasizing that Kubernetes works best when configurations are intentional and continuously improved through experience.
Robot Learning: A Tutorial: Robot learning is at an inflection point, driven by rapid advancements in machine learning and the growing availability of large-scale robotics data. This shift from classical, model-based methods to data-driven, learning-based paradigms is unlocking unprecedented capabilities in autonomous systems. This tutorial navigates the landscape of modern robot learning, charting a course from the foundational principles of Reinforcement Learning and Behavioral Cloning to generalist, language-conditioned models capable of operating across diverse tasks and even robot embodiments. This work is intended as a guide for researchers and practitioners, and our goal is to equip the reader with the conceptual understanding and practical tools necessary to contribute to developments in robot learning, with ready-to-use examples implemented in 𝚕𝚎𝚛𝚘𝚋𝚘𝚝.
